I Found Daddy’s Stuff

This morning I went for a travel around in the living room and found daddy’s stuff under his chair.  He looked down and took a picture of me getting into mischief, so I thought I would put it on here for you to see.  I really enjoy this new ability to get around in the living room and find everything there is to eat on the floor.  I also like being able to get my different toys from where ever they are around on the floor.  Now, when I throw them, I can put my arms under myself and drag myself to them.  It is a lot of fun, and saves me having to try to tell anyone else what I am after when I want something.

Hey, if you think my hair is messy in the mornings, you should see it by late afternoon!  I can really get it looking like an old mop!

Following are some pictures daddy took of me at the park on Sunday when I went with him and with my big bothers.

Hi there everyone!!!

I really love going outside now that it is warm out there.  There are lots of things to explore, such as the ground, the grass, and the stuff my family calls rubbish, which I am most definitely NOT allowed to put into my mouth, but when nobody is looking I do it anyway.  Another fun thing I like about outside is the Cats!  There are loads of them!  I found Chequers, Ommie, Vita, Tip-Top, and Frankenstein!  They all have different names that mean  something, such as Chequers has to do with her colours, and Vita is life.  Frankenstein was born right next to a book of the same name.  When I ask about my name, Daddy tells me that it is a new name and that the meaning has not been totally found out yet, but for now it is something very beautiful because it means ME..!!

A special time of the year called summer is coming, and Daddy is so excited!  He says that it is his favourite time of the year, especially in England.  Daddy thinks he is dead for about half of the year because winters here are cold and dark.  He says summer is warm and beautiful and the days are so long!  So maybe I will be able to go outside with him lots during the summertime!  I hope so!

By for now!

I Can Crawl!

This has been truly one of the best weeks of my life yet!  I have learned how to get around from one side off the living room to the other by lifting up with my arms from my belly, and putting my right leg to the floor and pushing forward.  That makes me go forward and I can get from off my matt to the other side of the living room.  And I have even got back again!  It is so nice to be able to go get my toys and that from wherever I have thrown them, or to get my toys when my brothers and my mum and dad take them and set them far away from me.  I never have figured out why they do that.

The living room is starting to seem smaller to me now that I can get around it on my own.  It is not as far from my matt to where the settee is as it used to be because it only takes me a little push or two to get there, where before I had to wait for mum or dad to take me to it!

Oh wow!  This really opens up new possibilities for me!  I can go stick my fingers into all the little holes in the floor and on the walls.  I can pull all the wires hanging from the big silver box under my mum’s desk, and I can maybe even go for a climb up the stairs to see where my brother’s are hiding.  What a new and wonderful world this is for me!

Talk to you again soon!

This is me trying to crawl!  I can easily go from there to the toy now, and further still!  I had a hard time here because I had not worked out yet that I could get around with just my right leg on the floor pushing.

My Very First Hair Cut!

Last week was kind of interesting.  I am still not sure what to think of it actually.  Daddy and Big-big Brother and I all went into town together.  We went into a place called Classic Cuts, where Daddy asked about something called a hair cut.  Then someone names Sam came down the stairs and we all went into a little room where daddy sat me on his lap, and Sam used scissors on my hair!  The next thing you know, the bits that were in my eyes were not anymore, and I could see just fine!  They made me something on the front called a fringe!  Daddy asked Sam some questions too, and found out that Sam has washed the hair of someone called Margaret Thatcher.  Sounds to me like the name of a milk snatcher!  Well, whoever she is!  Apparently the place daddy gets his hair cut is where this Thatcher lady gets hers done once a year when she comes up to Malvern.

As Sam cut my hair, I fussed a bit because I did not know what was going on, but of course, Sam told me that one day I would really come to like this.  It must have come true because by the time she was almost done, I was enjoying myself just fine, and holding still for my hair cut!

Now it’s Daddy’s turn!

Something Strange…

Yesterday I walked into town with my daddy and Big-big brother.  We did all kinds of thing, including the walk along the River Severn as we like to do, but when we were on our way out something strange happened.  We stopped at a grocery store that daddy says he had never been in before and as we were ready to leave we saw a baby just my size.

I was so happy to see a baby my size!  But then the people with her asked a question.  "How old is she?"  Daddy said I was 8 months old, but he then asked how old their little girl was and they answered "19 months."

Daddy says that I am big for my age, and that he gets that kind of thing a lot.  But he also tells me that he doesn’t get it because I am still just a little baby to him.  So daddy thinks maybe it is just that British babies are smaller, and that the size might be my American genes.  I don’t see what it has to do with what type of trousers I wear.  Daddy also says it might be because of my special diet because I am allergic to milk.  He thinks it could be due to the vitamins in my Neocate.  Either way, daddy is awfully proud of me, and glad I am a healthy, big baby!

Yours, Kirynie and Daddy!

Life’s Little Songs

I love my daddy and my big brother.  They both like to sing to me.  Daddy is not very good, but he does try to put together words that rhyme and have some sort of meaning to them that relates to me!  That’s very nice!  Big Brother, on the other hand will hum some sort of humming sound that daddy says sounds like a whale giving birth.  Don’t tell daddy, but I like Big Brother’s songs better than I like Daddy’s songs.

My favourite songs to sing sound more like Jordan’s songs.  Do you think that has anything to do with it?  I am not sure, but neither one of them can hold a note, especially when compared to my favourite singer.  She is a lady on mum’s i-Tunes called Ella Fitzgerald.  When I grow up I want to sing like her.  I love to dance with mum to the songs of Ella.

Music really is a big part of my life, and I love all types right now.  I really love to sing too.  I love making music of my own.!!  Daddy says that my music is the prettiest he has heard, ever.

It is Friday Today

What does that mean?  Friday?  I know mum and dad sometimes fry things on the cooker, but then they eat them with my brothers, and so does that mean that today we fry food?  If so, then why is it not "Fried Food Day?"  Things to confuse me, I guess.

Daddy got so excited yesterday I think he just about peed.  He didn’t, which is a good ting ’cause none of my nappies would fit him, that’s for sure!  Anyway, there was a knock at the door and a man handed him four little parcels and said they were called Passports!  I don’t know what they are, but one of them has my picture in it.  And one has my mum, and another had Big-big Brother, and the other had Big Brother in it.  Daddy says not to worry because he already has one from America, but that I have to get one of those too.  Dad calls it my right to citizenship, and says I was born with it, though I don’t think I have ever seen it.

Daddy says that this is a huge step towards us moving to America soon.  With these Passports in hand, mum and dad can now send those off to the Embassy in London, then we will have to go down there and visit, then we can be allowed to go live in America, if everything goes well on that visit.

Yesterday we also went for a walk to a place called Diglis Basin, which is where the Worcester-Birmingham Canal comes to the River Severn.  There are lots of long narrow boats called canal boats there.  It is a very beautiful place, and daddy says that he loves all boats, and water.  That is so good ’cause I love water too.  Bath time is my favourite time of the month…  okay, week.  Anyway, here are a couple of pictures my daddy took down at Diglis.

Coming into Diglis from the Severn you can see some of the many new flats that have been built where old factories once stood when my dad first moved to England in 2002.

One of the Queen’s swans swims passed a river boat.  The Queen quite literally owns all of the swans in the UK, so you’d better treat them nice!

Daddy wants to know about this boat he calls a Tender.  He wants to know why on earth someone would need it on a canal boat?  You are never more that 15 feet from shore!

Can you spot the Peregrine Falcon on St. Andrew’s Spire?

Shopping at Tesco!

Today I have gone to the store with Daddy and Big-Big Brother.  We went to get milk and bread and food for the cats.  We got a few other things as well, but mostly stayed to the list.  During the last half of the time around the store, Daddy turned my chair around so I could face out and see where we were going.  I was never so amazed in my whole life, I think!  There were so many neatly stacked things in the store.  I was shocked by how many things the store has in it!  There is everything from baby food to adult food to cat food!

Daddy got something he calls perfect food.  It is Tiger Bread and Irish Butter.  He says it is one thing he will really miss about the UK whenever we leave here.  For those who are in America and cannot have Irish butter, you are really missing out!  Daddy says that if you can get it there and you have to pay through the nose to, then do it, bleed for it if you have to.  It is worth it!  But that is just my daddy’s humble opinion.

This is Tiger Bread!  It is made like normal bread, but then coated on the outside with Sesame Seed Oil and Butter.

Not Sure What I did Today. I just Rolled!

I was on the floor in the living room with mum, and I saw some of my toys off to the side of me, so I kicked and I struggled, ’cause if there is one thing I have learned, people don’t always help me, and soon enough I was up on my tummy.  That made mum yell and my daddy and brothers come running!  Then they all jumped up and down and yelled.  I don’t know what I did wrong!

Not long later I tried it again, but this time only mum and dad yelled at me.  This time I noticed they were smiling.  Did I do something right this time?  Why didn’t my brothers come running?  Maybe what I did was right.  Nobody will tell me.

Whatever the case, they had better watch out because I am on my way to getting into absolutely everything I can get my hands on!  Now if I can just figure out how to get them to leave snacks on the mat close to me!

Monday Morning Photo Shoot

_DSC3057

Hi there!  Daddy got out his new camera and one of his lights this morning and took a load of pictures of me.  Some were okay!  Daddy says that he is especially happy about these because he did not use something called Photoshop on them.  They are straight from the camera.  He said he wanted to pick some good ones to put on my blog, so I am letting him.  I hope you enjoy!

(From Daddy:  I was playing around with the light and shadow and the way the shadow fell across the leather settee.  I particularly love the first picture and the halo effect it gives, as well as the strong contrast and unsettling balance.  It is because of this light/shadow balance that Kiry is positioned to the left of all of these shots.  Another element I have loved in this set was the pensive mood in some of these photos.  I have shots of her looking down and left as well as down and right, but the down and right shots are the best by far.  I think looking into the edge of the photo is a little too unsettling, so I did not include any of them.  Of course, I think Kiry is an amazing subject to work with.  She is good looking, and very helpful as a model, always thinking ahead, and finding the best balance between mood and composition.)

What a Busy Day

Today I got to go into town yet again, only this time instead of going with Daddy and Big-Big Brother, I went with Daddy and Mum! I rode all around, and though I wanted to go to a few shops besides Adams Kids, they wouldn’t take me. I tried and tried to tell them, but they still ignore me when I want things. They act as if I am just talking gibberish!

Still, it was a good time, and we got to go the the canteen on the top of House of Frasier again. Daddy loves that place because you can see the Cathedral, St. Andrew’s Spire, and some other church tops, as well as loads of slanting rooftops and the chimneys poking out of them with their chimney pots, some plain and some fancy. The windows in the canteen provide a full southern view, and they are huge!

Tonight I got to do something with mum called laundry. We were trying to get rid of something Big-Big Brother calls Mount Washmore! Daddy took pictures, so I am posting those below! Even Dolly went into the laundry, so she got to have a nice ride so she could clean her feet!

Well, I hope that everyone is having a great day too! I’ll see you next time! TIll then, take care!

Yours,

Kiry and Daddy!

Daddy is loving his setting on his new camera. He says that low saturation flatters me and makes me look modern.

Strike a pose! I love having my photo taken! Paris Hilton better watch out ’cause I’m smarter and better looking!
