It is Friday Today

What does that mean?  Friday?  I know mum and dad sometimes fry things on the cooker, but then they eat them with my brothers, and so does that mean that today we fry food?  If so, then why is it not "Fried Food Day?"  Things to confuse me, I guess.

Daddy got so excited yesterday I think he just about peed.  He didn’t, which is a good ting ’cause none of my nappies would fit him, that’s for sure!  Anyway, there was a knock at the door and a man handed him four little parcels and said they were called Passports!  I don’t know what they are, but one of them has my picture in it.  And one has my mum, and another had Big-big Brother, and the other had Big Brother in it.  Daddy says not to worry because he already has one from America, but that I have to get one of those too.  Dad calls it my right to citizenship, and says I was born with it, though I don’t think I have ever seen it.

Daddy says that this is a huge step towards us moving to America soon.  With these Passports in hand, mum and dad can now send those off to the Embassy in London, then we will have to go down there and visit, then we can be allowed to go live in America, if everything goes well on that visit.

Yesterday we also went for a walk to a place called Diglis Basin, which is where the Worcester-Birmingham Canal comes to the River Severn.  There are lots of long narrow boats called canal boats there.  It is a very beautiful place, and daddy says that he loves all boats, and water.  That is so good ’cause I love water too.  Bath time is my favourite time of the month…  okay, week.  Anyway, here are a couple of pictures my daddy took down at Diglis.

Coming into Diglis from the Severn you can see some of the many new flats that have been built where old factories once stood when my dad first moved to England in 2002.

One of the Queen’s swans swims passed a river boat.  The Queen quite literally owns all of the swans in the UK, so you’d better treat them nice!

Daddy wants to know about this boat he calls a Tender.  He wants to know why on earth someone would need it on a canal boat?  You are never more that 15 feet from shore!

Can you spot the Peregrine Falcon on St. Andrew’s Spire?
