Afton Family 4th of July
Ding Dong, the doorbell rang as Mrs. Afton went to answer it. “Hello?” Mrs. Afton said, “Here is your delivery, I need you to sign here please” the delivery man asked. “sure “ Mrs. Afton answered. When she finished signing the delivery man left and Mrs. Afton went and put the fireworks she had ordered away in the garage. A few minutes Mrs. Aftons parents arrived along with Mr. Afton’s dad, and Brother with his family. “Charlie, Cassidy, Gabriel!” Elizabeth yelled as they entered the house. Elizabeth was Mr. and Mrs. Aftons only daughter, they also had two sons named Micheal, and Chris. “Happy 4rth of July Lizzy!” Cassidy yelled, ““how have you been?” Charlie asked. “Pretty good, and you” Elizabeth responded “great” Charlie replied “let’s go play tag in the yard!?” Gabriel asked “ok!” they all answered in unison. Mr. Afton went out to the backyard with a bag of hamburger meat and the supplies needed to make a lot of hamburgers. While the adults talked and the kids played Mr. Afton barbequed the meat. “William!” Mrs. Afton called her husband. “Yes Clara! Mr. Afton answered a few seconds later. “Can you help me carry the dishes and napkins out please!” Mrs. Afton asked, “Sure Clara!” Mr. Afton went and helped Mrs. Afton, completely forgetting about the hamburgers. By the time Mr. Afton got back it was too late, it was all burned, and not lightly burned, not crispy burned, the hamburgers were completely black burned all the way through. “Aaaaahhh!” Mr. Afton screamed when seeing what had happened to the hamburgers. “Clara!” Mr. Afton yelled “Yes william?” Mrs. Afton said when getting there, “I need help” Mr. Afton responded “i’ll order some pizza instead” Mrs. Afton replied when she saw the hamburgers. After Mrs. Afton was done ordering some pizza, she told everyone about the change in dinner plans. “Back in my day we didn’t even have hamburgers!” “You were born in the dark age dad” Mr. Afton commented. After Mr. Afton was hit on the head by his dad, everyone went back to what they were doing. When the pizza finally arrived the sun was about to set. Mrs. Afton took the pizza and put it down on the tables in the backyard, “ Pizza’s here!” Mrs. Afton yelled loud enough for the neighbors to hear. By the time they were done eating the sun had set and Mr. Afton had gone to grab the fireworks. Once Mr. Afton put the fireworks down, Grandpa Afton snatched one up and grabbed a lighter from his pocket. “I’ll light the first firework!” Grandpa Afton announced before bringing the lighter to the string connected to the firework. BOOOOOM!! The firework flew up to the sky and a burst of red, white, and blue filled the sky above the Aftons house. Everyone looked in wonder as the rest of the fireworks flew up into the sky over the next hour. That was the best 4th of July any of them had ever had.
