Passed the Test
Tonight when mum and dad and I were in the kitchen, Mum tested me on my vocabulary. I was able to identify quickly and correctly all of the following:
Floor, Cooker, Fridge, Worktop, Table, Chair, Light, Washing Machine, microwave, toaster, and Dryer.
There were other things too. Mum and dad were very happy that I know all these items by name when I am only 22 1/2 months old.
For me though, it was a lot of fun, and that’s it! Whatever mum would name, I love to point at it and call out its name back to her.
Words really are a wonderful thing! I love being able to understand things like when it is time to go upstairs and get changed, or time to eat my tea, or breakfast or lunch for that matter. I also love being able to tell when my nappy needs to be changed, or when I want to go to sleep. Words are really helpful, and even though I cannot say them clearly, mum and dad give it a go at listening to me and trying to understand me. I can repeat just about anything they say to me. I am learning most of them!
Pretty soon, I will be able to tell daddy what I want to write about for real, rather then him sitting down and figuring it out for me. I am sure he can’t wait! I know I can’t..!!
