Busy Days of Summer
What is summer? That is what mum and dad call it outside. They say that something called winter will be out there before long, but that because I am in England, I won’t be able to tell the difference. Still, they like to do things because of the summer. One of the things we did this past week was go to a place called Malvern. Dad says that it is one of his favourite places to go. There is a pretty town centre there, and some lovely hills. It was my first trip out of the city I was born in. We went to Malvern by a big thing called a train. It was like a house, but when we went into it, the world outside moved till it turned to Malvern. It was very interesting.
Today we went with Auntie Pat to a place called Broadway, in the Cotswold’s. Cotswold’s are a hilly place that is very beautiful. Daddy and Auntie Pat climbed up a great tower and took pictures and looked at the Malvern. I don’t know why, when they could have just taken the train and had a closer look.
Mum and dad have also done some other things this week too. They cleaned out a room in our house called attic. And daddy also cleaned out a place called garden. Mum and dad said that the whole lot would need two skips. I think that is what you do between a hop and a jump, or it is a large container for rubbish. I am not sure, but there are two large containers in the front of our house. Oh, I just got that! I think it is the large container for the rubbish! Anyway, I think my brothers each will get to live in a skip when it is all done, because I heard daddy say he was going to put all their stuff in the skips.
Mum and dad are silly, and they are making me smile these days. I especially like to smile at mum. She has a lovely voice, and always says sweet things to me. Daddy is big and strong, and he makes me feel safe, so I like to go to sleep when I am with him. He is good at helping me to settle my tummy, so that also makes it easier and nicer for me to go to sleep. It makes daddy happy that I can go to sleep in his arms. I like it very much when he holds me.
Well, that’s an update for now. I am still trying to work a lot of these things out, but as I do, I will keep you updated, so you will know what they are too. Especially thins like the Train, and the Malvern, and the place Daddy and Auntie Pat went to look at the Malvern. There must be some reason they like to see it from up there!
Yours,
Kirynie (and sleeping daddy)
