Kittens and Rainbows

Have you ever been outside in the evening during the rain, and you look and see the most beautiful scene surrounded by one of the prettiest sounds. Today, less than an hour ago, I went out the back door into an amazing light rain, I walked down the path and saw the sunset light hitting the grass and a table. It was one of the most beautiful scenes I have seen and been a part of. Following that I walked around to the front of the house to see a double rainbow, today was an amazingly beautiful day.

The earliest thing to happen today was my brother Dylan coming over with my nephew Wynn to await the arrival of my brother Jordan(JJ), for he was visiting today. Not too long after Dylan shows up, JJ shows up too. So most of the day was spent with both of my brothers here and visiting, which doesn’t happen that often. Meaning today was already one of those rare days.

Next, too not long after everyone left, I go out back to do my animal chores and find a small pile of kittens near the door, close by is the mother cat feeding one of them. 5 kittens were born today by a young calico cat. (I’m keeping track of this for later) We have had 4 litters born this spring now, also a kind of rare thing.

Today has been filled with so many things that don’t happen that often, so I wanted to keep track of them all. Enjoy the memory clarification future me. 🙂

The wrong cat adopted a kitten

I feel so guilty. Today, just a few hours ago. I went outside and found a little orange kitten around the back of the house. I looked around and set him down with some older mama cats. When one of them started licking and feeding him, I thought “That must be the mother, she’s taking care of him” but no! She wasn’t his mother. I realized this later on when a different black kitten showed up in the same spot. The mother was in the middle of moving the kittens, and I accidentally GAVE AWAY her child to a different cat. I had found a bucket and an old blanket for the actual mother to keep her kitten in and left it alone for a few hours. I just checked on them to find 2 more kittens in there. No orange kitten in sight. I gave a cat’s kitten away to the only litter of kittens that I didn’t know the placement of. Now I’m over here feeling guilty because of a cat willing to adopt a kitten way too easily.

I know this is a weird thing to write about, but I want to remember this in the future.

I’m Back!

Hello, Hello! Kirynie Bacon here after a waaaaay too long break. After a bit too much trouble, I’m finally back and ready to post. Since my last post, lots have happened. I exited Tech Trep Academy around the end of 2022 and had to do a lot of math for the rest of that school year. At the beginning of the school year, I entered Westside High School in 9th grade and I am now a freshman there. My classes first semester include art, algebra, science, computer applications, Spanish, world culture, and finally English. When the second semester began, the only class I changed was Computer Applications to Lifetime Sports. Out of these classes, my favorite is Art. The school year has been pretty good so far. Though high school is a lot harder than middle school. I’m enjoying school, it’s nice to talk to people again. Since last time I have also finally gotten started on something I had been trying to do for ages, Learning languages. I started learning Russian about a year ago and recently started working on Italian, as well as my Spanish class. I recently made it to a 1-year streak in Duolingo, my parents were really sweet and got me a small cake for celebration. We also now have 2 and a Half more indoor cats. Calico is a calico female who is blind in her right eye but is a sweet cat. Blackjack is a grayish-striped male cat who was brought in because he nearly starved to death and miraculously survived, he’s named Blackjack for how lucky he was to survive. And finally, the half, Scrappy is a small orange male cat, he is the brother of Blackjack but is a lot smaller than him. Scrappy is an Outdoor cat who we let in to eat and warm up, hence the half. Though to be fair, he recently lost half of his tail, so that could be the half too. Scrappy lives up to his name waaay too much, between being sick, being small-probably because of worms- and losing his tail, he is way too scrappy. They and Sirius get along pretty well. Anyways, I’ll post again sometime soon. Arrivederci!
