Nanny’s House!

Lately I have had the worst time!  For a week, my mom and oldest brother went to a place called Birmingham Children’s Hospital.  Poor JJ had to have surgery on his noggin!  They had to remove blood that was between his brain and the skin the brain has under the skull called the dura.

Well, anyway, dad scared my nappies full because Auntie Tasha came over for the whole week and they moved all our stuff out of the house!  When they were all done I was waking up at Nanny San’s house!  Luckily mom and JJ found their way over there because now they are here too, and Auntie Tasha went home.

We have been living at Nanny San’s house ever since.  It is much smaller than our old house, but it is also much, much nicer.  I can tell because I am not allowed to touch anything!

Things are pretty good here.  Nanny San has a TV, which we never had at the old house, which means that I can always find my family right where I left them when it is on.  No more getting lost looking for everyone!  And since the place is small and the decorations are civil, it is easy to clean, which means the family don’t have to spend as much time away from me when they are cleaning it!

Daddy says that we will live here till the end of the month, then we are going to go up with the birds in an aeroplane and ride it to a place called America.  Mom and dad have talked about this place for all of my life, so I am sure glad we will be able to get there and finally see it!

Well, that’s enough for now!  Nanny has a great big book with nicely dressed people for sale in it, so I am going to go shopping!

Mommy Got Permission to Live in America

Yesterday we went on a train down to a great big city called London to spend the night, only to get up to a rainy morning.  We had breakfast in the hotel before we went out into the pouring rain, then we walked all over  Bayswater to Marble Arch, then Mayfair trying to find someplace that had a way to keep dry, such as an umbrelly!  Well, anyway, we finally found one, then Daddy and I left mum and JJ and Dylan at a place called the Umbassy, and Daddy and I went to a place mum really likes, called Starbuck’s.  Daddy very slowly drank a hot chocolate, then checked my nappy, and we went over to a huge place called Selfridge’s.  While I was there I watched some of Toy Story on a really heavy Television, because it weighed £33,000.00!  Then, daddy talked to a guy named Ben over at the department that sells armoured cars and bullet proof vests.  Ben suggested a Nanny-Cam to watch the person who watches me, but Daddy said that meant Mommy and Daddy could only watch each other because nobody else is allowed to.  Daddy says that he is very particular about who watches me, and he is, because nobody has ever watched me but those in my family, and Nanny San.

Well, after we left the Umbassy, we walked all over the place to Paddington Station so we could sit down and rest.  Then we took a train home to Worcester, where I live, and was born.  Well, I sure am excited that mummy and JJ and Dylan will get to come and live with Daddy and I in the Nevada!  Now we have just got to move house twice and then fly on a bird-plane.

An Article About…

Poop!

We have been thinking for a while when it is that we should officially start to potty train our little Kiry.  She has not been started, but has had opportunities to learn the things she needs to learn in order to prepare her properly for it.  For example, Kiry has had field trips to the loo to see how the grown-ups do it, and to see what is used in the process.  She has also been learning the parts of the body involved so that she can learn to correctly identify the function involved in the urges she has for the toilette.  She has long been taking her own nappies to the dustbin, and getting her clean ones out, and getting the baby-wipes necessary, and so on.  She can do all of it all by herself, except the actual changes.  So, it stands to reason that once all of this is worked out, and once she can say when she needs a change of nappy, then she can also say when she needs to go to the loo.

Today was a big day in this process.  This morning, Kiry said “poop,” and pointed to the correct location.  She had already gone, but it was the first time she has correctly identified it, and rather than her usual game of getting the nappy and baby-wipes, then leading dad on a brisk run around the living room in order to keep him fit, she actually put the final ingredient for a change in place by laying down and saying, “baby.”  I have always made it a habit to say the names of each thing required to her, and she can name them well now, but I always was left sitting and waiting and saying something like, “there is just one thing missing!  Where’s the baby?”

So after Kiry lay down, she said “baby,” and I looked down from my chair and said, “oh, you got me the baby this time!  Right then, I had better get strait to work.”  Down I came, to reward this wonderful action of hers with full success by completing the requested task.  I popped open her nappy, and laying there as proud as can be was a 1/2 inch ball of the required ‘poop!’  Of course, I could not just leave her with it, so I had to change the only ten minute old nappy and put another new one on her.

Maybe now she can reward me with some more intensive training on the potty, to make up for the money wasted on the half-inch ball of ‘poop!’  :-)

For some reason, she is calling for and getting her baby-wipes now…  :-S

Happy Birthday–The Sound Of It…

Dear Kiry,

I just wanted to tell you that you are growing so big, and I am loving you so much!  I love all the things that you do, I think, with the exception of one…

You love to sing “Happy birthday to you!”  You keep repeating it over and over.  And the repetition is not even what bothers me about it.  What bothers me about it is that it sounds exactly like you are singing “Happy DEATH day to you!”  Please darlin’, knock it off!

I love you!

Love,

Daddy!

Happy Days

My older brothers are on holiday this week, and I miss them, I sure do.  But I also found a good side to them being gone, and that is my dear old dad.  Daddy and I are home alone while mum is at work, and Dad and I get to hang out together all day long.  It is really, really fun!  When it is time for me to have a nap, Daddy lays down on the settee and I lay in his arms and fall asleep right there!  That is unusual because Daddy usually has to do things with my brothers while I sleep and so doesn’t have the time to be able to do that sort of thing with me.

Another thing we do is have our meals together every time.  Sometimes Daddy has to do other things when the boys are around, like take a break from them during lunch, so he has them feed me, which gives him his break, and them a big chance to learn about caring for a little person.  But so far, Daddy and I have sat down and had all our meals together and have had some great conversations about things.

This morning we sat on the settee together and looked out the window for the Magpie that lives in the trees on hill behind the house over the road.  We were watching and watching when all at once the Magpie appeared on the fence right in front of our house!  Good times!

This week things have been really messy around our house.  Mum and dad and my brothers have been packing some big brown boxes that are in the living room!  Daddy keeps reminding me that if something called the Embassy works out on the 10th of August, then we will be moving to live with my Nanny San for a month, then to a place called America.  Of course, I hope that it works out because I hear there are lots of rides there, like cars and planes and trains and horses and Disneyland!  I am not sure what all that stuff is as I have only road on a train before.  I have not been in a car in ages, and can hardly remember what one is, though I have been in a taxi, but Dad says there are not too many of those in this America place.

Daddy says that is the Embassy does not work out, we are going to move house anyway, and live somewhere else here in Worcester.  Dad says that his garden will grow better in WET-cester than it would in America anyhow.

Well, I have  a big day still to come.  I have to have a bath..!!  I am not too fond of those these days.  Daddy says i need to get lovin’ them though so I can learn to swim.  If I don’t love a little bath, what makes him think I am going to want to have a BIG one?

Yours,

Kirynie (with Daddy’s help typing!)

Off to the Doctor’s Today

I am off to the doctor’s surgery today!  But it is not for me!  How exciting!  It is for my oldest brother, JJ!  I am so glad it is not me that is getting poked and prodded.  I sure hate it when they get me in there and next thing I know, POKE!  All i can do is scream!  I hope they are not as mean to JJ!

A General Update With Lots of Photos

Hi there to everyone out there in the world!  I have got some photos to upload that I hope that you will like!  I won’t delay you much other than to say these were taken in the last few months, and Daddy has just decided to help me put them up!  🙂

_KJB4435

This is me on my way to Abbergavanny, Wales, on the 18th February, 2010, having a snack on the train.  It was  a lovely old ride out, and my first time out of my native England!

 _KJB4504

Daddy and I went all over Abbergavanny before we stopped in for something to eat at a tine fish and chip shop that Dad says he had been to once before.  Dad ate the fish, and I ate the chips!  As it started to snow while we were on our way out to Wales, Daddy apologises for the smudge on the fisheye lens.

_KJB4509

Whatever the state of us, and Daddy’s lens, I had such a great time that day going all over and being with Daddy!  The snow was lovely!  It is a memory I am sure I will always treasure for as long as I remember it, or at least as long as there are pictures of it!

_KJB4521

When we got over to the Castle Ruins after lunch that day, Daddy put my chair on the other side of a tree stump and took this picture.  He said it would give some scale to the tree stump.  I don’t know if he knows, but trees are supposed to have bark, not scales.  😉

_KJB4534

I got to get out of the chair while we were at the Castle Lodge.  It was closed for the staff to have a late lunch, so we didn’t go inside.  Daddy says he’s been in before, and that we were not missing anything I would have enjoyed.  But I would have liked to get out of the snow!  Silly Daddy..!!

_KJB4556

You would think that on the train home I would have been tired and would have had a nap.  To be honest, I was still playful!  Lucky for me that Daddy was not tired either!  🙂

_KJB4607

28 February, 2010.  This is me enjoying a lovely bowl of cereals in the morning.  Daddy thinks I am cute, so he wanted me to put this up.  Do you see what I put up with?

_KJB4625

Looks like we went for a walk after breakfast.  Mum, my brothers, and I must have been heading off to someplace fun..!!

_KJB4660

But I guess we’ll never know where because Daddy never took pictures of the place.  It must have been the shop!  But I was still happy that day, and though I cannot remember it well, I was happy, and that is what matters!

_KJB4695

28 Feb must have been a good day!

_KJB4717

…well, mostly.

_KJB4729

I love going to the park!  We did on 2 March 2010.  We have been going even more since, as the weather has warmed up a lot!  Of course, the big fleece jacket gives me more padding when I fall though!

_KJB4743

With a little bit of help, I get to go almost the whole way down the slide nearly by myself!

_KJB4859

Mum hates it when I use my diddy (besides, mum and dad gave it me so I would not eat the paint on the brush!), but I need to show this photo anyhow because the 6th of March 2010 was the date I painted by first painting, and I did it all on my own!  I thought that rather than expressionism, I would start out with abstract art.  I loved the colours!

_KJB4881

Daddy thought it might be fun to abstract my abstract art!

_KJB4897

I also got some paint on my fingers!

_KJB4904

The colours and the textures are interesting to look at!

_KJB4908

The textures on my hands are just as interesting as those on the paper!

_KJB5129

I want to say something here.  As this picture from the 12th of March, 2010 shows you, getting your hair done is as much fun as it looks!

Well, that is a big post for now!  I will put more up soon!

Yours,

Kiry & Daddy!

Getting Back to Blogging!

Hi there everyone..!!  Today has been an at home sort of day.  Mum and dad were so busy doing things with papers and computers that all I could do was entertain myself to keep from getting bored.  The trouble with that is trouble.  I mean, I get in trouble.  Mum and dad aren’t that fond of me entertaining myself!  So they tell me not to.  I don’t know why they would leave me to do it, then tell me off for doing it.  It just does not make sense.  I need to get this through to them somehow.  What’s wrong with me playing with their computers when they are not using them?  What is wrong with me redecorating the boring old kitchen with all of my toys?  Why shouldn’t I be able to write my ideas on their papers when they are at their computers?  Well, it is just silly to me..!!

I did have a pretty good day, no matter what though.  Daddy says that he is proud of me, and I like it when he is, because I get concepts.  Like today, when daddy had to go into the other room to do something, and when I went to follow him, he said “wait right here and I will be right back.”  So of course I waited, just like he asked.  What else was I supposed to do?  Why does it matter so much that I am not yet even two years old?  I am 22 1/2 months old, and I think I should be able to get my head around such a simple request!  It is not like I am uncivilized!  After all, when I wanted to go past the gate to get into the kitchen today, I did just like I would always do.  I said “gate please.”  Then when daddy opened it, I walked through and said “thank you!”  What kind of uncouth trollop does my dad take me for?

Still, I love my mum and dad very much.  They are good people, who do try, and who do keep me involved with the things they are doing as much as they can.  They talk to me, let me know what is going on, and are careful to try to listen to me, even though I still have troubles saying things clearly.  Thankfully, I can spell though, eh?!

My favourite nights are when my brothers go off to their dad’s house and the whole house feels empty except for me and mum and dad.  So I get to sleep in their bed between them!  I just love being able to lay my head on one of them and my feet on the other.  They make great head and foot rests!

Well, I am getting very tired now!  I am toddling off to bed for the night.  I think daddy is already snoring away next to me.  He is so cute when he sleeps… after I put a dolly peg on his nose!

Night!

Kirynie and Daddy..!!
