The First Fireworks I ever Saw

What are they?  There are flashes and then sounds.  The whole sky flashes sometimes.  And there are so many colours, they look like glowing flowers in the night sky, or like someone is trying to put all the falling stars back where they belong.  Daddy told me they were called “Fireworks,” and that they were probably from a pub down in Lowesmore.  It was 31 August, and Daddy says he is not sure why they set them off, and that he did not expect them.  I have included the best photo Daddy was able to get of them with St. Andrew’s Spire in the background.  Daddy could not get a better shot that night because I woke up and really wanted to see what was going on.  I sure am glad I got to see the show!

I Have Taken a Few Steps In The Right Direction!

Yesterday I did something that made Mum and Dad almost almost jump for joy!  Mum came in from getting some air outside and I was stood at Daddy’s knee.  Mum held out her arms and I took a step away from Daddy’s knee and to her.  She stepped back and I took two more steps till she caught me!  Not only were they both so proud, but so was I!  When Mum picked me up I kept tapping my hand on my chest and smiling because I knew that what I did was really good!

So, today I have been sneaking in some more practice when nobody is looking!  I can only get a step or two on my own, but you watch out, and I will be all over this house before you know it!

Fun Days!

A couple of weeks ago I had a special day that they call a “birfday.”  My mum had one recently too.  But mine was extra fun because my brothers and mum and dad all sang a song to me that goed “happy birfday to you!  Happy birfday to you!  Happy birfday dear Kiry!  Happy birfday to you..!!”  I really liked it a lot when they would all sing it together.  I wonder if they know what the word cacophony means?  ‘Cause they was it!

It was also pretty nice because different people brought me stuff, and they got me these nice little books with only a cover and no pages inside that they wrote in themselves.  They were made of card rather than thick board like all my books.

Today was a pretty nice day too.  My brothers are out to a place called Chippenham for the week, and today daddy and I had a daddy / daughter day out.  We both got our hair cut, and we had a nice chicken lunch at a place called Nando’s.  Daddy likes it because it makes people’s faces turn red.  I liked it because I had chicken in a sandwich, so that means I got bread!  Bread is one of my favourite foods in the whole wide world!  We also got some flowers that daddy says are for mum and for me!

There are lots of things I like to do these days you know.  One of them is to play with a shape sorter.  I love sorting things out, especially my laundry, and things like that.  But I have a shape sorter, and I can get the round shape out and bang it back in all by myself, and I can get it dead on every time without fail!

One thing I cannot do though is walk.  I see everyone else at my house walking all the time.  It looks like a great way to get around.  I find standing is sometimes pleasant as a way to free my hands up to play, but I don’t do it for very long because if I do, I know I will bang my head on the floor.  So I grab hold pretty soon.

One of the other things I like very much in the world besides sorting is looking at my books.  Books are really nice little things with pages and pictures and stories inside them.  I love books like “Busy Baby,” “Twinkle Twinkle,” and of course the all time classic set of “Bob the Builder” books.

Yesterday I got to go with dad to a place I could write a book about.  It is called Worcester Cathedral.  Daddy says he talks bout it a lot, but he does because it is one of the most amazing things in Worcester.  He says it is a great big, ancient building that would be very hard to duplicate today.  Having a look around the place, I still have no idea what “duplicate” is!  Oh well!  It looks like a nice enough place to me.  Maybe when it is old, they will sell it and I can make it into a house.  It looks just about the right size for me!

Well, I had better toddle off for now.  I hope everyone is well, and happy!

Mommy Time.!!

Mommy asked if it was ok if she left an ikkle message, and I nodded my head.!!!  ;o)Mommy has had problems in getting the blog to allow her to put her thoughts and comments on here, but she is hoping that she has sorted that problem out now..!!Ikkle Miss Boo is now 10 mths old, and wow, what a wonderful 10mths it has been….:o)Kiry-Boo has definately brought a smile to the family.  She is usually full of the joys of spring (unless her teeth are bothering her, or if she isn’t getting her own way!!).Kiry-Boo has given Mommy & Daddy a challenging time with her teeth, many sleepless nights have resulted in many teeth at 10 mths – 13 of them!!!  Pheww Kiry has been busy.!She is now running chaos around the house, soooooooooo close to walking, but not quite, but that doesn’t stop her getting to where she wants to go!  I’m thinking about calling her spider-boo, she was climbing the walls, and the curtains and me the other day.!!  She is soo proud of herself when she climbs up one of us when we are stood up..She has lots of sounds that she makes….almost words,….’UH-OH’ is such a cute one as she can’t quuuuuuuuite say it…she puts huge effort into ‘UH’ and then runs out of breathe to say ‘OH’.It has definately been an interesting time.!!I love you Kiry-Boo!!   xxx(Thankyou for letting me leave a message..;o))Mommy…xxx

I Get Around!

I have been tugging myself along on the floor for days now, and it has been great! I can get all around the living room and find my way into just about anything I want to!  There are things everywhere I can get to, such as my toys and my books… I love my books!  They are so much fun; with pictures on every page and words al over the place to get mum or dad to read to me!  But that is not gettin’ around.  I like to pull along on the floor and go from my mat to the door, then past dad’s chair, and over to the door to the kitchen.  Along the way I might stop for a play with a toy, or a little bite to eat.  I might stop by and say hi to daddy, and with any luck he might even stoop down and pick me up!  Oh wow!  It is great fun!

I also like to sit in a special seat mum and dad got for me that lets me stand up.  It is so cool!  I get to walk all around in my seat.  I can go to most of the same places that I can on my belly.  Only thing is though, I cannot get to the yummy things to eat that I sometimes find on the floor.

If you have not tried crawling, or you have not been for a walk in your seat lately, I highly recommend it!  It is good fun!

Yours,

Kiry and Daddy!

In the Middle of the Night

Last night I woke up when mum tried to carry me up the stairs.  Silly ol’ parents thought it was time to go to bed!  But I knew better because I was feeling well rested and good, so I got myself up and started to play.  Next thing you know I had convinced my parents it must be play time, so we all sat on their bed and played for a bit.  While we did daddy took some photos of me which I include below.  I liked playing with the grown ups in the middle of the night.  They are a lot of fun then.  I think I might get up and do it again sometime soon!  Of course, they need the practice because as I write this, mum is asleep on the settee.  I stayed up till a part of the night called 3AM!  But we had left dad upstairs asleep by 12:30, so he is doing pretty okay for now.  Maybe that is what I have to do, split them up so there is always one around!  That would be way cool!

I Found Daddy’s Stuff

This morning I went for a travel around in the living room and found daddy’s stuff under his chair.  He looked down and took a picture of me getting into mischief, so I thought I would put it on here for you to see.  I really enjoy this new ability to get around in the living room and find everything there is to eat on the floor.  I also like being able to get my different toys from where ever they are around on the floor.  Now, when I throw them, I can put my arms under myself and drag myself to them.  It is a lot of fun, and saves me having to try to tell anyone else what I am after when I want something.

Hey, if you think my hair is messy in the mornings, you should see it by late afternoon!  I can really get it looking like an old mop!

Following are some pictures daddy took of me at the park on Sunday when I went with him and with my big bothers.

Hi there everyone!!!

I really love going outside now that it is warm out there.  There are lots of things to explore, such as the ground, the grass, and the stuff my family calls rubbish, which I am most definitely NOT allowed to put into my mouth, but when nobody is looking I do it anyway.  Another fun thing I like about outside is the Cats!  There are loads of them!  I found Chequers, Ommie, Vita, Tip-Top, and Frankenstein!  They all have different names that mean  something, such as Chequers has to do with her colours, and Vita is life.  Frankenstein was born right next to a book of the same name.  When I ask about my name, Daddy tells me that it is a new name and that the meaning has not been totally found out yet, but for now it is something very beautiful because it means ME..!!

A special time of the year called summer is coming, and Daddy is so excited!  He says that it is his favourite time of the year, especially in England.  Daddy thinks he is dead for about half of the year because winters here are cold and dark.  He says summer is warm and beautiful and the days are so long!  So maybe I will be able to go outside with him lots during the summertime!  I hope so!

By for now!

I Can Crawl!

This has been truly one of the best weeks of my life yet!  I have learned how to get around from one side off the living room to the other by lifting up with my arms from my belly, and putting my right leg to the floor and pushing forward.  That makes me go forward and I can get from off my matt to the other side of the living room.  And I have even got back again!  It is so nice to be able to go get my toys and that from wherever I have thrown them, or to get my toys when my brothers and my mum and dad take them and set them far away from me.  I never have figured out why they do that.

The living room is starting to seem smaller to me now that I can get around it on my own.  It is not as far from my matt to where the settee is as it used to be because it only takes me a little push or two to get there, where before I had to wait for mum or dad to take me to it!

Oh wow!  This really opens up new possibilities for me!  I can go stick my fingers into all the little holes in the floor and on the walls.  I can pull all the wires hanging from the big silver box under my mum’s desk, and I can maybe even go for a climb up the stairs to see where my brother’s are hiding.  What a new and wonderful world this is for me!

Talk to you again soon!

Kirynie and Daddy…

This is me trying to crawl!  I can easily go from there to the toy now, and further still!  I had a hard time here because I had not worked out yet that I could get around with just my right leg on the floor pushing.

My Very First Hair Cut!

Last week was kind of interesting.  I am still not sure what to think of it actually.  Daddy and Big-big Brother and I all went into town together.  We went into a place called Classic Cuts, where Daddy asked about something called a hair cut.  Then someone names Sam came down the stairs and we all went into a little room where daddy sat me on his lap, and Sam used scissors on my hair!  The next thing you know, the bits that were in my eyes were not anymore, and I could see just fine!  They made me something on the front called a fringe!  Daddy asked Sam some questions too, and found out that Sam has washed the hair of someone called Margaret Thatcher.  Sounds to me like the name of a milk snatcher!  Well, whoever she is!  Apparently the place daddy gets his hair cut is where this Thatcher lady gets hers done once a year when she comes up to Malvern.

As Sam cut my hair, I fussed a bit because I did not know what was going on, but of course, Sam told me that one day I would really come to like this.  It must have come true because by the time she was almost done, I was enjoying myself just fine, and holding still for my hair cut!
